Dolos Key Chain

It's March 28th, 2022.

58 years ago, a 9.2 magnitude earth quake rocked
Alaska. The force of that event would be the catalyst
for the most devastating tsunami to ever hit the Del
Norte County coastline.

In 1974 and again in 1986, dolos were placed along a
section of the Jetty particularly susceptible to damage.

There are 1630 tetrapods on the ocean side of the
Crescent City Jetty. There are 1900 tetrapods and 768 steel reinforced dolos on the newer leg of the jetty.
Dolos were invented by South African Aubrey Kruger.In 1963 and first deployed on the breakwater of East London in 1964.
